Corporate events like splits, mergers, and spin-offs can confuse investors. Understand each type and how PaxMoney adjusts automatically.
Types of corporate events
Stock Split: The company divides its shares. 1 share at $100 becomes 2 at $50. Your equity doesn't change.
Reverse Split: The opposite. 10 shares at $5 become 1 at $50.
Merger: Two companies become one. Your shares are converted at a defined ratio.
Spin-off: Part of the company becomes independent. You receive shares of the new company with proportional cost allocation.
Rename: The ticker changes but the company remains the same.
